Where: 5th Arrondissement, Paris
Even from the outside, this is an astonishingly beautiful museum. The objects are well presented and the displays are both informative and clear. There’s a lot of solid information and interpretive material to get your teeth into and a lot to admire from an aesthetic standpoint too. There are an impressive number of high-quality multi-media displays and the fact that the whole museum is set over a number of floors (you work your way down from the top) means that each section feels like a marked new piece. I particularly liked that the wider rooms of the top levels give way to smaller, more intimate feeling cases and displays.
Don’t miss: The really very beautiful giant circular piece hanging from the ceiling on the second level, onto which photographs are projected
