I’d like to give you a full write-up of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, but if I’m really honest, I went in and got completely absorbed by a temporary exhibition about the Chinese photographer and artist Gao Bo. The exhibition looked at his reinvention of his own photographs taken in Tibet years previously. Upon turning back to these pieces he re-engages with them by covering them in ink, paint and even his own blood. As time passes, Gao Bo has become more performative, and his pieces much larger in scale. The whole experience has stayed with me as a totally spectacular exhibition on an artist I had no previous knowledge of. It was engaging, informative and beautiful. What more could you want?
Don’t miss: Whatever the temporary exhibition is, trust me!
